About
My name is David Bennett and this is my personal blog where I write here about anything that crosses my mind – about society, psychology, money, politics, and the oddities of life.
I am living in the north of England at the moment. I have lived in Finland, and Israel, and I spent a year traveling through Central and South America. I have also spent several months in India, in Japan, and also in the USA.
Besides this site, I also take the photographs and write about photography, image editing, and typography at Photograph Works.
I am also one half of the team that runs the ecard and art print site at Quillcards.
To give you some idea of where I am coming from with the articles on this site, I believe in the entitlement of men and women to freedom of choice and the pursuit of happiness.
Some people hold that certain truths are self-evident. Among those truths is the truth that people have the right to live free from fear.
I don’t see this as a right. I see it as a hard-won entitlement arising out of the contract entered into by the people in a decent society.
I also see it as an interior investigation that each person goes through, each in their own way.
Deciding whether something is a right or an entitlement is not a matter of splitting hairs. I believe that understanding the difference helps us move towards better societies.
